Dog rescued after being found impaled, dangling from tree in South Carolina

An unbelievable finding for a Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina resident who was investigating a dog barking and stumbled across a dog suspended fifteen feet and impaled. The dog which appears to be a Staffordshire Terrier mix is in stable condition despite the horrific injuries.

Almost out of a horror movie, the limb impaled straight through the abdomen of the pup but miraculously missed essential organs. CBS reported:

“This was a close call for this pet, and we are doing everything possible to save him,” said Charleston Animal Society Senior Director of Veterinary Care Lucy Fuller.

The branch missed the stomach and did not pierce the intestines. Attempts are being made to get in touch with the dogs owners as the dog was found micro-chipped.
