Man has sex with family dog in front of child

A North Carolina man was arrested Thursday November 21 for allegedly having sex with his family dog. In an even more disturbing twist, the act was performed in front of a minor child. David Lee Carter, 25 of Benson, N.C. was arrested for these crimes and ABC11 reported the arrest on Thursday stating, “Carter is charged with indecent liberties because he allegedly had sex with the dog in front of a child.”

The search warrants obtained by ABC11 stated that Carter “willfully and feloniously did commit the abominable and detestable crime against nature with a male canine, family pet named ‘Drake’, (one and half year old Boxer.)”

Sadly, several states currently have not yet made bestiality illegal including: Alabama, Connecticut, Hawaii, Kentucky, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Vermont, West Virginia, Wyoming and the District of Columbia. According to the Animal Law and Historical Center, there is a mix of states who prosecute offenders in the misdemeanor and felony categories. Fortunately for the poor little pup named Drake, North Carolina is a felony state (although they only prosecute as a “crime against nature,”) but they will hopefully prosecute the man who assaulted this dog to the fullest extent of the law.
