Cop Makes Woman Sit In Hot Car To See How Her Dog Felt: Police Blotter

Strongsville, Ohio- Concerned shoppers reported a dog locked in a hot car, but when police responded- they did something nobody expected. The owner of the vehicle assured the officer that the dog was “fine” but the officer wanted to prove a point to this ignorant and cruel dog owner.

Most seasoned dog owners know that temperatures sky-rocket and can quickly reach deadly levels even on a mild or moderately warm day in an unattended vehicle. Even in the shade, heat-stroke and death are real possibilities and “windows cracked” is not a fail-safe.  Dogs have limited means of cooling themselves as they don’t sweat like humans so extra precautions and care should always be used to keep dogs from extreme temperatures.

According to the Cleavland Sun News, the police blotter stated:

To prove a point, the officer made the woman sit inside of the warm car with the windows up and without the engine on for a few minutes.

The woman said she was fine but the officer noted she looked uncomfortable. The woman was advised if she did this again she would be cited.
