Blind dog lost in California wilderness for 7 days

Boulder Creek, Calif- A blind family dog was lost after wandering off from her family home on February 24. Hope nearly completely lost after searches from friends, neighbors, and family produced no results for 7 days. Especially with recent mountain lion sightings, hopes of finding the beloved dog were dim. But, suddenly a devastating find deep within the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Dog Owner, Beth Cole reported that Sage (a beloved yellow lab and family dog) had disappeared seemingly without a trace. Seven days into search efforts, a light colored fur body was spotted floating within a flowing stream. Neighbors happened upon the sight, and were devastated- until they noticed something odd.

The head of the light colored animal appeared to move, and suddenly they realized this was Sage, their neighbor’s missing blind yellow lab- alive after 7 days! Cole’s neighbor, Dan Estrada was the one who found the dog however he refused the $1,000 reward that had been offered. Estrada insisted that any money should be donated to an animal cause.

Call it a miracle? Call it anything you want, but the one thing that is for certain? Beth Cole and her family are certainly happy to have Sage home safe and sound!
