Dog cheats death: driven 250 miles stuck in front end of car who hit him

Thought for dead, a driver did not stop after hitting a stray puppy on his way out of town. The accident took place in Fenghuang County in China’s Hunan Province, but over 100 miles down the road the dog was discovered wedged tightly in the front grill of the car that hit him, Daily Mail reported Thursday.

Amazingly, the poor puppy did not appear to be physically injured from the trauma of being hit by a car, wedged in front grill, and driven at high speeds down a highway for over 100 miles. The driver, Mr. Zhang, began hearing whining noises and what sounded like dog barking coming from under his car and pulled over to shockingly find the dog he hit sticking out of the front end of his car. The pup however, was stuck so tightly into the front end of the car that he couldn’t pry him out without fearing he would be injured.

Mr. Zhang turned around and drove back to his hometown (with the stuck pup still firmly attached inside his vehicle) to find help from a veterinarian. Against all odds, the dog is expected to make a full recovery and only sustained a few bruises and scrapes from the nearly tragic adventure.

So moved by the ordeal and convinced they found each other for a reason, the man who hit the stray and drove him nearly 250 miles made a life changing decision. He decided not to be just the man who hit a stray and drove off, but to be the kind soul who gave a new loving forever home to the dog who cheated death.
